How Does It Work?
Aspiring entrepreneurs fill out a web form. Contestants are selected. The greater community is invited to be crowd funders. They donate $15 toward the seed funding and receive dinner and a ballot. After dinner, contestants pitch their idea or project to the Cafe attendees. Contestants clarify aspects of the project with a Q&A time, ballots are then cast. Voting is based on a point system. The project that received the most points receives the funding.
What Are the Rules?
Each contestant has 5 minutes to give their presentation. After presentations, there will be a short recess and then a 3 minute question and answer period.
Presenters may include audiovisuals, but each presenter is responsible for bringing their materials on a USB stick or emailing their materials to the Cafe organizer before the event. A display table will be available for each presenter.
