Extensive planning and coordination went into making sure we were able to successfully execute the shoot. Studying the trail systems, securing access points, extensive location scouting, developing multiple shooting schedules based on the runners’ pace, creating shot lists, coordinating how to deliver meals, equipment and other necessities to the crew, developing safety measures and adhering to COVID-19 regulations, communicating the crew and runners’ locations and pace, communicating with the National Park Service, race volunteers and Race Director, and swiftly changing the plan and adapting when unforeseen circumstances occur.
