DESCRIPTION:Join us for the first workshop in the Fayetteville Arts Coalition's DIY series! Thursday\, September 21\, 2017 6:30-9 p.m.\n\n\n\nThe recycled book class teaches a variety of beginner bookbinding skills\, and students will leave the class having created a small blank journal with a recycled cardboard cover. Skills learned include creating folios and signatures\, cutting a cover\, punching sewing holes with a jig\, and sewing the book together. Participants are asked to bring cardboard to use for their covers (the thickness of a cereal box or soda box works best)\, otherwise all materials are provided. Recommended for ages 12-99.\n\n\n\nInstructor: Amy Jackson\n\nAmy earned a BA in Fine Art from Longwood College\, with a concentration in Printmaking and Book Art. She worked as a bookbinder for five years with Cat Tail Run Bookbinding in Winchester\, VA.\n\n\n\nTickets must be purchased in advance and no refunds are available less than 24 hours before event.
